There is much talk these days of " diversity "and" integration "with continual references to the need for a comparison, if you calm, but always understood in a context of conflict.
We believe the "special" someone who stands in front, never on the side or even inside us.
Here, however, that Daniela Miscia reminds us (some even reveals it) that the "diversity", and the encounter with it, is an integral part of our growth process. The courtyard

But then, make the big mistake to open, right there, in our homes, a window called false and destabilizing television. A window that brings, say, the many vices and few virtues of our society.

Regain their dignity, thanks to the tears of a child, sweeping away any uncertainty and returns the proper dimension to our lives. And I say "our" because this is the feeling one gets when reading this novel. Identify with a changing, not only one of the protagonists, but now in one, now another. In a multi-puzzle in which we find ourselves in the only run of two playful children who cultivate their friendship, or the crying of a baby who, apparently alone, discovers love gratuitous and disinterested finder of the meaning of life.
